I should know that you're no good for me

I had zero patience or time for American singer Katy Perry's buzz-making first single, so imagine my horror that I find myself actually really liking her new single, apparently (maybe?) due out in April, "Hot N Cold." It still features her being "edgy" in the verses, but it's been said she's got some Swedish songwriters who wrote it with her, which would explain the fact that it's got a good chorus--it's a little bit like Paris's "Nothing In This World" with a little more bounce.

You can listen to it on her MySpace--scroll quickly past the "I'm an individual, me" photo at the top of the page and steer clear of that debut single, but "Hot N Cold" is worth your time.

It's a great song! And it would have to be, for me to like it after that first song of hers...still, if she keeps going like this, maybe I'll have to do an almost complete 180.

Anyway, it's really catchy--I can't wait for it to hit iTunes because I keep going back to her MySpace to play it over and over again.

Wasn't her first single that offensive "Ur So Gay"? How about "Ur An Obnxious Whorebag And Don't Quit Your Starbucks Job, Luv"....

Yes. I canNOT STAND that song. I refuse to even mention it by name. Which is why I am really not happy with myself for liking this new song. It'd be one thing if she'd just released a song I hated on a musical level beforehand, but to release one I found that offensive because of what it was saying means that I've got real problems with liking future music from her.

...though, D'luv, no matter what her first single was, I don't think she'd have stood a chance with you the moment you saw that picture she's got at the top of her MySpace page.
