Avril, aided by Dr. Luke, finally creates a song to rival the rush and fun of "Sk8er Boi," and not only does she rival it, she surpasses it. A (Toni Basil's) "Mickey" for the '00s, the song is a total sugar rush, all chants and handclaps and CATCHINESS. It's pure undiluted infectious fun, with every element perfectly tailored towards that end but still somehow managing to seem perfectly spontaneous. I'm shocked something this pop and this upbeatly fun (and this in-your-face about it) could go to #1 in the U.S., but I shouldn't be--it's almost impossible to resist, and really, why would you want to?Find it on: The Best Damn Thing

Oh troy - you may be disappointed to learn i love this song, though am not an avril fan in particular. Still this was a great sugary confection of pop and i loved/love it. Those bloody hair extensions though? Perfectly dreadful. And Blake ~ what can i say that has not already been said? I adore him, and i think i like him even more because America has rejected him. Come to england blakeypoos where we will sort out your weird fashions and embrace you. Literally in my case!
You know, I've gone from loving, to hating, back to loving this song and am finally at peace with the fact that I really enjoy it. The handclapping is beyond sensational, pity the album was a boring mess though.
I think if I put aside my hate for Avril I would really like the song too... If anyone else had sung It it probably would have been on my countdown as well... I mean who doesnt love a hand clap!
wow- this was such a great song. I think I loved it a little too much, as I went out and got the Worldwide single, with the chorus in 7 different languages. it was just that good.
Ha ha, Troy, I understand! I was actually even more surprised at her success, because who will actually say they like Avril/her music nowadays? I don't know many people that would. And yes, handclaps always equal added bonus points for a song ;)
Maybe he'll be accepted somewhere...I can hope! I still don't think I've yet listened to a full Avril album, but this was a great single.

and the fucking problem is I also like this song, as well as 'hot' (which Avril is not) and 'when you're gone' lol
