A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do

The gorgeous Alesha™ is releasing "Let's Get Excited," my favorite not-yet-a-single song from The Alesha Show, as her next single. The video is basically just choreographed group dancing and the occasional shot of a shirtless guy...

...but isn't that what every video would be like if I were in charge?

"Let's Get Excited," like "The Boy Does Nothing," is exactly the sort of song--bubbly and quirky but more mainstream than you'd think--that makes me glad we've got a popstar like Alesha capable of delivering it properly.

I so loved this song when I first heard the whole album. I'm getting better at this A&R stuff(Breathe Slow was my other favorite song!), I so wanted it to be a single then..

Not quite the video I was imagining for the song(I was thinking less modern..) but what the heck, it better do well!! Maybe I'll get to doing that review I've been meaning to do...

Bobby, I'm surprised at how much I find it enjoyable and interesting! The choreography is killer (and they properly matched it to the music this time). Good editing and good playing to the camera from Alesha, too.

Nikki, future career? You really did call a lot of eventual singles last year (and I think in some cases artists who didn't listen to you would have been better off if they did).

I've not watched it yet - But I'm sure it'd be fantastic!

Video's shouldn't be complicated, just fun and easy - as long as it all looks great, what's the issue?

This is a post that resonates on so many levels. One, I really like this broad. And two, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do is what RobPop says every morning in the mirror before strutting out into the day.

and so much easier to dance to on the dancefloor without looking like a complete t**t!

The first single left me a little cold, the second single I liked but seemed way too copycat, but this one I'm really liking. May have to pick this disc up next month when I'm in the UK.

haha, maybe! I do love the song though, it's so much fun but it doesn't get to the point where you CAN'T sing along to it anymore.

Aaron, complicated concepts can be great some time, but this video really does show that you don't necessarily need one to make a video that enhances your appreciation of the song.

D'luvvly, but not you? Aww, that ruins my image of you...

Paul, true!

John, for me, the album could have been much better, but then again, I think that's because I wanted more fun songs--like this one (or "Lipstick," "Knockdown," and "Ting A Ling" from her first album)--on it. It does have some depth beyond the singles, though. What is this about you being in the UK next month?! Did I miss that?

Nikki, that's exactly it!
