#73, Enrique Iglesias, "Can You Hear Me"

Hey hey, all the way
D-J, let it play
Hey hey, can you hear me?

Enrique, one of my favorite popstars of 2007, released "Can You Hear Me" as the Euro 2008 anthem and I thought for a moment he was trying to kill me--the sheer adorableness of it was enough to put me on pop overload. Kind of like "Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)" amped up with a choppy but constant electronic beat and designed to be sung in arenas, "Can You Hear Me" was hopelessly catchy, never failing to make me want to sing along with its chorus. Yes, Steve Morales, the co-writer of "Escape" and "Don't Turn Off The Lights," you (with Enrique) did do it again. I don't want Enrique to only do this kind of uber-cute poppy song, but he does them so well that I hope he never stops entirely. My life is not going to be complete until I have the opportunity to jump up and down and sing along with all the songs at a massive Enrique Iglesias concert.

Find it on: Greatest Hits

quite stunning. not quite matched by any of the new tracks on his greatest hits, this has set the bar for all songs by enrique in the future.

Paul, I never know how much sarcasm to read into your comments! "Can You Hear Me" is just so classic Enrique and so cute that I can't get over it. Plus, it has FLASHING LIGHTS in the video! As anyone who's watched So You Think You Can Dance with me knows, flashing lights make me like anything more--great pop song, flashing lights, and shiny clothing all influence my opinions of performances way more than they should considering it's, you know, a dancing show and all that.

P.S. I think in the long run this song will be even higher up in my list--it hurt to not have it higher.

I really hope it's on his new album as a bonus track (Is it on the Greatest hits? - I haven't looked) - I might buy it just to hear the whole thing!
