Even if we lose our track, we're both the kind that won't turn back

Speaking of videos for Swedish pop-rock songs from 2003...

I've been engaged in this ongoing saga--yes, saga, because I need a suitably epic word--to get Swedish duo Grant's "Just The Thing," a song from back in 2003, ever since I heard a clip of it on Epicentre's site. Suffice to say I've failed miserably in every attempt to do so, never even managing to hear the full thing until now, via this video.

Awesome chorus? You bet. It's the sort of perfectly catchy thing that you know has to come from Sweden. You will have it stuck in your head for hours afterward. You think that's bad, though? Try having it stuck in your head for YEARS without being able to hear the full song. I can't believe I'm still sane (no commenting!).

I'd nail the blond.

Your dilemma—or saga, as it were—reminds me of hearing Un Disco In Lattina's "Always Coca Cola" at the first gay club I ever went to back in 1994, and searching for that damn song for 7 years till I finally got ahold of it on some obscure DJ mix compilation in 2001.

Earlier this year I finally got ahold of the CD single.

Good luck!

It's exciting isn't it when you finally get a song you've had in your head for years. I finally just got a copy of Jewel's "The Cold Song" which she only sings live and it's a decent version too. I'm kvelling with happiness.

Ps, I'd be in line after D'Lust for the blonde, but i ain't having sloppy seconds :P

7 years, D'luv? Oh no...now I'm envisioning another five years trying to track down the compilation album that actually exists which contains this track.

I'm glad your quest has come to an end, Paul!

You should have asked me for it, gurl. I own the single, lol! :)

You're KIDDING! Alex, I would in all likelihood love you forever if you posted it on your blog or something.

Sometimes you don't want to like a song, because the hook or the gimmick is just too easy. But this is such a great song. Thanks for passing it on!

I actually know exactly what you mean by that, John--I'm glad you like the song, though!
