It's not hard at all

You thought no record contract would mean we'd be waiting a long time before we'd be hearing Blake Lewis's voice on another music track? Apparently, that's not the case--I give you Darude featuring Blake Lewis, "Selfless."

As you'd guess from that artists list, it's not a Blake song and isn't pop; it's very much on the electronica side of things. Should you for some reason want to buy it (it's apparently for a charity of some sort), iTunes is selling it.

Also, he got a dog.

2nd shallow comment in a row: Sir Diddimus is a much better addition to the Blake canon than this song. I wanted to make baby noises to it and rub his belly. The dog you understand!!

The ...featuring Sergey record is much better...

I think I agree, Paul--about the dog versus song...but that's mainly because this isn't really my preferred type of music; it's the sort of thing I'm not going to make any sort of judgment on.

You're right, PPG, it's not a pop song at all. I wonder why Darude didn't credit Blake with a "featuring" on it? Clearly it's Blake's vocals and Blake is "promoting" it on his myspace. I like the song, but I'm into dance/electronica anyways. I wonder what the mass appeal is going to be? But because Blake's name isn't on it, you have to be deliberate in finding it, as it wouldn't come up in the Genius toolbar or when searching for BL.

Awwwww Blake. So nice to hear him again, even just a little bit. Thanks for this clip. I hope he moves in a more intriguing direction now that he probably has a bit more freedom to record what he pleases.

That is a bit interesting--I hadn't thought about it from your angle, the iTunes searching angle, where the more likelihood that the song pops up the better chance of it getting bought there is.

I do hope we get to hear more from him! I'll be interested to hear what he does next--I'd guess he's going to be less pop and more electronica, which I'm not sure would thrill me, but I'd be open to loving it and really, doing whatever music you love most is best.

Dance AND be socially responsible! You can't lose.

Artists like Darude are not putting tracks themselves personally to iTunes, but their record companies or other representatives are, so Blake's name not being there is probably nothing but a typo/stupid mistake by their part. I've seen the track title elsewhere being 'Darude feat. Blake Lewis - Selfless'.
