You tagged your name on my heart and...

A random post about a few artists I like:

Blake Lewis's second single is "How Many Words," according to a MySpace blog from him, and it should be "on the airwaves" probably some time in the next month. In other Blake news, he gave a very out there but very typical Blender interview that I think is in the new Blender with Britney on the cover. Also, he has been looking very presentable lately--good for him. I still think Audio Day Dream was the best album of 2007, and the fact that it was overlooked by so many people is something that really needs to be remedied. Please, if it's my one pop wish of the year, please let "How Many Words" be a success--the song and the album deserve it. If you've somehow missed "How Many Words," one of the synth-pop half-ballads off of the album, take a listen to it below, accompanied strangely by a lot of fire.

Another day, another contender for my favorite single of 2008 (well, two!)--after what seems like forever, my much-loved "Playing Me" by Jonathan Fagerlund is coming out February 20 (clip on MySpace). It's getting a physical release and a music video, which is more than "Angeline" had, so hopefully it does well. I was on some other MySpace semi-recently--a songwriter, I think--and they mentioned the song lined up for Jonathan's third single. Of course, I've now forgotten its title, but it was one we haven't heard a clip of yet. Anyway, buy the perfect boy pop "Playing Me" when it comes out! Hopefully it's made as easy for international customers to buy as "Angeline" was.

There are so many songs other blogs have featured that I've been meaning to say I loved for a long time, Sam Sparro's soul-and-electro "Black & Gold" and the Snoop Dogg feat. Robyn remix of "Sexual Eruption" probably being the two most important. Both are fantastic. Also, I'm very much looking forward to the new West End Girls material.

In blog news, a very very sad goodbye to The Zapping. I already covered most of my feelings on this in a comment over there, but suffice to say that the blogworld feels much emptier now.

I hope Blake gets the recognition he deserves too.

Blake doesn't really do it for me but at least he's not Jordin Sparks (*shudders*)!

I don't have any sam sparro! Send it my way :)

What a rude way to start a comment. I have been lapse recently in commenting! So i will just catch up by saying i am quite excited by Love In stereo by Ola and i do like LILY by Kate Ryan.

Right, onto Blake. I think that is a great choice of second single. I am fixated at the moment though on Got To Get Her. It is rather brilliant and catchy and i think would serve him very well as a career launcher in England.

Also, it's always nice to read about the very lovely Jonathan Fagerlund. I am anxious for his album to drop!

In unrelated news, I realised the other day that Osvaldo's Move On song was originally by this Taio Cruz everyone is raving about!

I must admit that I haven't listened to Blake since December. I kind of burned out on him after a couple weeks. I'm sure if I start hearing "How Many Words" everywhere, from it becoming a huge hit, I'll get back in to him.

So, in other words, I'll probably never listen to him again.

Fingers crossed!

Ha ha, Mike, I'm sure Jordin will be touring Australia soon just so she can sing "Tattoo" to you.

Paul, I'll e-mail it to you! I know, me too, re: Jonathan's album--heck, I'll even settle for the single at this point! It must have been--what, April or earlier that I heard (part of) it for the first time--I need it already! I do like the new Taio Cruz song. And ooo, look at you getting to go all PopEatsPop ;)

Ouch, D'luv!

...and yet, so true.

I've had a Blake post/draft for a couple days--based on the myspace info. Really not sure what to think of it. I mean, he talks about how relaxing it is to paint his house with his dad and all that. (!!) I mean, shouldn't he be workin' it to get HMW on the radio and all that? Like you mention, PG, the "on the airwaves" timeframe is quite vague and I think there's an allusion to a struggle in getting a green-light on a second single. I'm worried. And yet, I think HMW is a great second single, much betta than Break Anotha in that it's more radio friendly. Of course, I'd have picked the epic "End of the World," but then again, I'm not in charge. :)

Did he say that? Ha, I'm a bad Blake fan, I only ever pay attention/read stuff about singles and ignore everything around that. That's a post I'd be interested to read, if you ever manage to kind of consolidate your thoughts into something you're willing to share. I agree with you about "End Of The World"--much as I love "How Many Words," "End Of The World" seems more US radio-friendly.

Here here on the Robyn/Snoop track. It's INFINITELY better than the original Snoop version too. You just know he'd absolutely agree too.

It really is! And I think he would.
