It started kind of hazy

Just a relatively quick post today. I never heard the first English album of Icelandic girl group Nylon, though I remember Paul saying it would better suit a boy band and Robpop comparing it to Westlife, so there must have been something boy band about it. At any rate, their new single, though I'm still undecided about it, has me thinking about checking out that album, as well as their earlier Icelandic ones.

Holiday--the jury is still out on this track, but I've been listening to it enough trying to figure out how good it is that it seems to be worth sharing. "Holiday" is a sweet song that has a sound that I associate with "retro" for some reason. If you're looking for some sort of electro masterpiece, you're not going to get it here, but it is pretty and pretty catchy, though maybe not with an unforgettable hook.

To buy Nylon's new single "Holiday," go here (digital).

Next up: maybe something Danish.

I think these broads added me as a MySpace friend a few months back.

i saw them live ("live") at gay pride last year and they have a certain sweetness about them that is endearing. They aren't breaking any boundaries but they are like tucking into your favourite food after not eating it for a while. Or something!

I really don't mind them at all. At least their voices aren't odd like those cows from Frank. They had great material, obviously, but voices that would make you wish you were deaf.

PPG have you had any exposure to long-gone Aussie popstars girlband Bardot?? I have a feeling you would love them...

I have a feeling that they're looking for all the supporters they can get.

It's so funny you make that comparison, Paul--I was jotting down ideas for an upcoming song and I said something quite similar about it!

Only a very little exposure, Adem--they have two albums, right? Maybe I should buy one.

If you buy one then get the second, "Play It Like That". The first one was certainly okay for its time, but by GOD it has not aged very well at all now. The second had "I Need Somebody" which is quite possibly one of the top 5 greatest australian pop songs of all time.

Their first album is near impossible to get, so maybe when I get around to sending you those Callea CDs i'll pop that in there too :)

Perfect! I'll start with that one, then--thanks! :)
