We got a situation, they're always putting us down

This really is my last post for the day, as I'll be gone very soon, but I had to share this. From McFly's official MySpace:

"You will find the dates for our Best Hits SO FAR Arena Tour on our page - tickets go on sale Saturday 28 April - details tba. Our record company have the option to bring out a best hits album after our third studio album and we will be adding some new tracks - but meanwhile we are already working on songs for our 4th studio album due out in early 2008! So for those of you who are asking - Mcfly will be around for a long, long time to come!"

In other words, greatest hits album, with some new songs. My first reaction was "oh no!", but, on second thought, if putting out a greatest hits now means they'll be working hard on their next studio album (and they promise to release it!), I'm fine with that. Not that they necessarily need loads of time--there wasn't that big a gap between Wonderland and Motion In The Ocean--but I don't want them to burn out or to feel they have to resort to not-so-great covers. As I've said before, I'd love new McFly music all the time, but I'll take quality over quantity any day, if that's what it comes down to.

i'm glad they specifically said they were working on the fourth album - i suspect the record company had the right to release a greatest hits with or without their involvement so it will be good to get a few new songs on there while they beaver away in the studio...i reckon greatest hits late this year new album a year later if they are sensible. PS - i am SO going to that tour!!

I'm glad to hear that, too. And I am SO envious of you going to that tour! :)
