Nobody I'd rather be
As we wait to find out whether newspaper predictions that Johan Becker/Star Pilots will sing Melodifestival track "Higher," Star Pilots themselves are apparently releasing a new single. Much like their (fantastic) debut, "In The Heat Of The Night," it sounds like a cross between Uniting Nations and Sunblock. Unlike their debut, it's a cover--of Chesney Hawkes's "The One And Only." Listen to a clip of it here. Despite Chesney's song being from the early '90's and this cover being a product of 2008, I doubt the song has ever sounded more like it belongs on an '80's sound track.
Can I just confess that I have a giant weakness for uplifting dance-pop in this style? If they are in Melodifestivalen and they continue in this style, I'm going to fall head over heels for their track (as long as it's got a good melody).

Thanks for letting know!!! Seems like I'm gonna become a fan of Star Pilots :)
Johan Becker is one of MF-2009 artists I expect a lot from. Though due to youtube Fame Factory performances he has great live voice but lack of charisma on the stage.
By the way one thing I wanted to share with you, dear (sometimes I want so much to know your name, to call you somehow, maybe not real one, hehe).
I've just discovered that swedish Starclub (Chiki Chiki, All The Boys (In The Club)) just started career as Daisy. I love her new song "Everytime"!!!

Very qualitative pop-music and it's more different than Starclub stuff.
hurrah for star pilots not ending up down the plop pan! And the danny album sounds very exciting - although not the spelling of emely!! Need to go thru your site now to catch up on everything!
Damian, how amazing is "Everytime"? What a great song! I'm glad she's got something good going on now. I'll be listening to everything else on her MySpace as soon as it finishes playing (well, assuming I don't play it again ;) )--thanks for the news!
Yay, Paul, you're back! I hope Florida treated you well!
Jesus! Chesney Hawkes...
If you ever wanted to see what D'luvvly looked like at age 17, go digging in the search on Chart Rigger for "Chesney Hawkes". It was out in 1991, and two years ago I posted a pic of me from then, I think...
Now, don't all rush at once.
Awww, D'luv, adorable! That photo + "The One And Only" = a great post, even if you hadn't written anything else.
