You're the one for me

I'm sorry, but I just love the idea of a country where cell phone ads feature kids singing "Cara Mia" at a school talent contest.

While we're on the subject of Sweden, I only just noticed that Sanna Nielsen has a song from her upcoming album, "I Can Catch The Moon," streaming on her MySpace. It's a ballad, and I know she performed it on TV some weeks ago (edit: oh, it's viewable here; it's by Bobby Ljunggren and Aleena Gibson), but I hadn't heard it until yesterday, though I have no idea how long it's been on her MySpace. I do hope we get some songs more like "Surrender" on the album...

sigh - if only mans would come over here and start advertising cell phones. Did you see there is a kidz bopz type project out in sweden called pop kidz and they do Cara Mia. How sickeningly cute.

I didn't know they did a version of "Cara Mia"! I did know they had Swedish versions of Danny and Therese's "If Only You" and Helena Paparizou's "My Number One."

Christ almighty - this advert came on every five seconds when we were over in Göteborg and I just wanrted to tear my hair out!! (My idiosyncratic aversion to Cara Mia is well documented)

Speaking of Karaoke goings on, have you heard of / seen Singing Bee? How cool is that show?

xx

I know, it's on all. the. time. I'm still not sick of it (though I don't think laughing at it is the reaction the advertisers were going for), but that must have been torture for you!

Yes yes yes! I would have posted the ad for Singing Bee too if YouTube had that--a country where people sing "Evighet" on Singing Bee! And where "With Every Heartbeat" soundtracks promos for ER! Love it.
