With every step it's harder to believe

(Eurovision post coming soon!)

Thanks to Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, and Allison Iraheta, I've felt more invested in this season of American Idol than last year. Still, if you gave me a choice between the Cathy Dennis co-written winner's song, "No Boundaries," on sale on iTunes in its studio version by the two finalists on May 22 (and also co-written by Kara DioGuardi)...

...and Heidi Montag's "Blackout," also a Cathy Dennis co-write, available on iTunes as of today...

there's no contest as to which I'd rather listen to. I actually like last year's song, but Cathy and Kara, I know there were probably certain parameters you were given, but really?

Of course, if neither of those are to your liking, you could go with several songs from Glee, Fox's new comedy which debuted after Idol but won't continue until this fall. If you've ever wanted to hear glee club versions of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" (the female lead on this debuted the main female role in Spring Awakening)...

(that video will only play for Americans, I think, but you can hear parts of the song and see parts of the scene in the trailer; obviously, spoiler alert for anyone planning on watching the show)

...or Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" (sung in peppy upbeat style by the rivals earlier in the show)...

(ditto on only being accessible to Americans)

you're in luck.

Today I've found out that it's final of American Idol on Perez Hillton blog and decided that it's finally time to check out at least who are the finalists)))
There were a lot of PR around Adam, what to say... he's original, he's a very good singer, he really can grow in a huge international star but I'd like to wish good luck to Kris because he needs it more. He seems to be very humble person who won't be spoiled by fame (what I respect the most) but he's not unique as artist and I don't really know if international audience will need him.
Speaking about this song Adam sings great, sings with expression and it's interesting to watch him on the stage. But after Kris' singing you understand that Adam's vocal is not ready yet, Kris doesn't seem to even strain to sing everything absolutely perfect, everything on its place. But will audience prefer perfect but typical singer to not so perfect but more unique one?
I don't think so, Adam will win, but I'm wishing all the luck to Kris, Adam will be a star without this victory.

I haven't really watched this season of AI but i've been youtubing Adam and Kris for a while, and i'm happy with either, but i'm slightly behind Kris. For entirely shallow reasons. He's prettier. Though those eyebrows really do need sorting.

GLEE! OH MY GOD> is this show made for me or what. I nabbed the mp3s. As i said on my blog, spectacular already started an obsession with show tune versions of songs on youtube and this will merely fuel it. It's like a snarky Brit High! Adore.

Ugh - American Idol really disappointed me this year. But I just watched 'Glee' last night and that girl's voice gave me goosebumps at the end. hahah.

Yeah!!!!!!))) He did it! I'm very glad for Kris, he's very talented and hope he won't be lost.
I think you're glad too PG. Seems like you like male artists with guy-next-door image and melodic pop-rock sound sung by such pleasant voices :)

Where'd you go?

Damian, I wanted Adam to win, but I'm happy for Kris, who is great as well. It might work out for the best this way, giving Adam a bit more freedom (and not forcing him to put that horrible winner's song on his album) and Kris the support he probably needs. I need both their albums released (though I want them to take the time they need to make them good) ASAP!

Paul, Glee seems like it was MADE for you! I love that slightly twisted sense of humor about it.

Lea (the girl) does have a fantastic voice, Nikki--she really deserves more stardom, so I hope this transition from Broadway to TV works out for her.

Robbie, to backyard lawns, Detroit, and job hunts, but I'm semi-back now.

OMG - you like Glee too? I didn't watch it until my friend wrote me and said I had to...I'm so glad I did. It's so cheesy pop perfection, I totally dig it.

Lea Michele, the lead you talked about, is INCREDIBLE. I had the privilege of seeing her in Spring Awakening live...and she thrilled me then too.

Blackout is another stunning smash from Heidi. This has #1139 on the digital download chart written all over it!
